Flowood adopts FY2019 budget and sets ad valorem tax levy at 20 mills

At the Aug. 20 meeting, the Board held a public hearing on the City of Flowood’s FY2019 budgets and millage rates; City Clerk Josh Carlisle explained the details to the Board and no members of the public spoke. On a motion by Alderman Don Flynt, seconded by Alderman Deron Harmon, the Board adopted a Resolution setting the ad valorem tax levy at 20 mills for fiscal year 2019.
The action was recorded as unanimous among those present. Related consent-agenda financial items later in the meeting included authorizations for payments and transfers and an extension of a Crown Castle cell-tower lease pending final review.
