Burke superintendent reports truck delivery delay; town leaders to contact vendor

Highway Superintendent Larry LaPlante updated the Burke Town Board on Sept. 9 that the delivery of a new Mack truck has been delayed because the vendor is requesting payment before delivery.
"Company wants payment for truck before it is received. Larry & Bill will call the company and discuss," the minutes state. LaPlante explained the delay and said he and Supervisor Bill Wood would contact the vendor to resolve the issue.
LaPlante also reported operational updates: a culvert was installed on Spencer Road; crews have been mowing, grading and preparing roads for winter (including hauling sand and cutting wood); work was done on Callahan Road and shoulders on Vincent Road; assistance was provided to Chateaugay on blacktop. Equipment maintenance items included a tractor system flush, replacement of an air valve on a Volvo, and ongoing dozer work.
