Flowood sets ad valorem tax levy at 20 mills after budget hearing

At the Aug. 15 meeting, City Clerk Joshua (Josh) Carlisle presented the City of Flowood Fiscal Year 2016 budgets and the proposed millage rate during a public hearing. The minutes state that no members of the public appeared to comment on the proposed budgets.
After the hearing, Alderman Deron Harmon moved to adopt a resolution setting the ad valorem tax levy at 20 mills for FY2016; Alderman Kathy Smith seconded the motion. The resolution was approved unanimously by the board members present and recorded in the minutes.
