Fire Chief Jeffrey Welborn recommended a series of personnel moves at the Aug. 6 Flowood Board of Aldermen meeting to bolster the department's leadership and staffing. The board approved promoting Lieutenant Chris Davis to Captain Step 7 and Lieutenant Justin Dillard to Captain Step 12+. The board also approved promotions of Private Daniel Gordon and Private Justin Taylor to Lieutenant Step 5.
Welborn also recommended hiring four Private II Step 1 firefighters: Todd M. Wayts, Travis J. Parks, Thomas G. Taylor and Chad A. Lambert. Each recommendation was moved, seconded and approved unanimously by the aldermen present. The approved personnel actions were recorded on the meeting minutes and will take effect according to the City's personnel procedures.
