Westwood Estates residents ask Pleasant Prairie to enforce safety, accessibility fixes

Residents of Westwood Estates presented a coordinated regulatory summary to the Village Board and asked the village to inspect and enforce minimum habitability and accessibility standards. Angela Kretchmer, acting president of the resident neighborhood association, said the packet documents recurring, community‑wide safety issues including insufficient lighting in mail areas and lack of handicap access to the management office.

Kretchmer asked for inspection and ADA review; she said residents had photographed conditions and included lease excerpts that may conflict with Wisconsin manufacturer‑housing protections. Staff noted a December licensing hearing (12/22/2025) had required a work plan and capital improvements timeline; Westwood management representatives said they had begun demolition of dilapidated units and were compiling bids and timelines for road and capital repairs. The board voted to receive and file the residents’ packet and referred staff to meet with management and residents to review corrective steps.
