Benicia Performing Arts details expanded Jazz O’Clock series at Clock Tower

Bart Sullivan, introduced by staff as a representative of the Benicia Performing Arts Foundation, told the Community Services Commission the group is staging a second installment of its Jazz O’Clock series at the Benicia Clock Tower at the end of the month. "It's $25 for anybody over 18 and over. And under 18, it's free," Sullivan said, urging families to attend.
Sullivan said the foundation has expanded outreach this year — working with local music educators and Bay Area media including KCSM — and aims to pair headline performers with local youth for onstage mentoring. Joe Russell, a musician and new board member, described the event as a mix of established artists and emerging talent and said the group is canvassing community events such as Porchfest and Oktoberfest to promote ticket sales. Commissioners welcomed the series and asked staff to continue coordinating senior accommodations and outreach to school music programs.
