At the May 12 meeting, resident Jim Hurley addressed the board to express dissatisfaction with the quality of rock used when the Village reconstructed his driveway earlier in 2026. Hurley presented samples from his driveway and from a water main break repair area and said the materials appeared different; he also raised a separate concern about the amount of water used at the Village splash pad in past summers when he worked for the Village about 10 years ago compared with present-day usage.
President Yepsen told the board no complaint had been received from Hurley's neighbor regarding that neighbor's driveway and concluded Hurley's comments at the end of the five-minute public comment period. Hurley also advised the board he would be recording himself while speaking. The board made no formal finding or referral on Hurley's driveway materials at the time.
