Mayor Clarence C. DeBold read proclamations designating May 17–23, 2026, as National Public Works Week, recognizing Shorewood's 2025 Tree City USA designation for urban-forest activities, and proclaiming May 2026 as Building Safety Month in the village. The proclamations praised public-works and building-code staff for their roles in maintaining infrastructure and public safety.
Noriel of Public Works thanked the board and invited residents to an open house during Public Works Week on May 23, describing planned activities including food and a "touch a truck" event for children. The proclamations will be posted on the village website and the public-works department will publicize the open house on social media.
