Miss Burkholder, village staff, presented the annual appropriations ordinance as a housekeeping but legally required document that establishes the village's legal spending authority. She said the ordinance adds a 25% cushion to budget figures to provide legal appropriation room for unforeseen items while the operational budget remains the actual spending limit.
"The total budget for all funds put together is $69,084,122 which would make our proposed appropriation $86,355,154," Burkholder said. The village will publish a public hearing and hold the ordinance's second read at the board's first meeting in June; no questions were raised during the presentation.
