Committee approves council procedure allowing virtual participation

The Portola Valley Emergency Preparedness Committee voted to follow a council-approved procedure that allows members to participate virtually and modifies traditional teleconferencing posting and quorum requirements.

The chair explained the policy change and asked for a motion; the motion was seconded and the committee voted to adopt the procedure. The chair noted one requirement is at least one person must be physically present to run video operations and that a copy of the agenda must be posted at the schoolhouse. Ray indicated he would abstain because he was participating on Zoom and current rules still technically applied until formally adopted.

"One of the requirements, though, is also that someone needs to be here physically, one person at least to run the video aspect of it," the chair said. After a second was called, the chair announced the motion passed.
