Select Board members authorized staff to draft and release a request for proposals for a subsurface wastewater upgrade that would serve three public buildings and require about 60 pump-free chambers. Department staff said the total project could be in the tens of thousands ($60–$80k estimate cited) and that the EPA indicated funding could be available if the town posts bids and documents low-bid amounts before the EPA deadline.
Town staff asked the board to authorize prompt action so the town can secure the potential EPA amendment and funding. A board motion carried to move forward with an RFP and to have staff prepare required bid documents and timelines so the town may apply for the grant before the October funding cutoff.
