The Harrison Planning Board confirmed leadership for the coming year at its Aug. 5 meeting, electing James Dayton as chair and designating Larry Farmer as vice chair. Committee member (S3) moved to nominate James Dayton for chair and Committee member (S2) seconded the motion.
"Mister chairman, I would, place the name of James Dayton in for the position of chairman for the ensuing year," Committee member (S3) said during nominations. Acting Chair (S1) called for a vote; one member recorded an abstention and the board confirmed Dayton as chair. Later, Acting Chair (S1) nominated Larry Farmer to continue as vice chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The votes were conducted at the start of the meeting as part of routine organizational business. No additional nominations were advanced during the floor period. The new chair and vice chair will take on leadership for the planning board’s upcoming work on the comprehensive plan and ordinance reviews.
