The O'Brien County Board of Supervisors voted Feb. 24 to set a public hearing on the Fiscal 2027 Proposed Property Tax Levy for 9:00 a.m. on March 31, 2026. The board directed the County Auditor to mail notice of the hearing to each property taxpayer; the motion was moved by Rohwer and seconded by Thomas and carried by all ayes.
The hearing notice setting does not itself change levy rates; it schedules the formal public meeting where the proposed levy will be presented and public comment may be taken. County Auditor Rhea Schmalen was instructed to handle the required taxpayer mailings in advance of the March 31 hearing.
