The O'Brien County Board of Supervisors voted to sell county-owned property in Primghar to The Roger Smith Estate for $2,500, approving Resolution 2026-03 after a public hearing that generated no public comments.
At 10:02 a.m. the chair opened a hearing on the proposed disposal of the following property: Lots 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Block 11 of the Replat of Block 6 and the East 264 feet of Outlot 1 in Shuck’s Addition to the City of Primghar, pursuant to Code of Iowa Section 331.361. The Roger Smith Estate submitted an offer of $2,500.00; the board closed the hearing at 10:04 a.m. and passed the resolution accepting the offer. The minutes record that Supervisor Vanden Hull abstained; the motion is recorded as carried.
The decision follows the statutory process the board referenced under Code of Iowa §331.361 for disposing of county real property. The board took no public testimony at the hearing, and the resolution directs county officials to complete the sale consistent with the terms approved by the board.
