Mayor Johann R. Wallace presented years-of-service certificates and pins recognizing staff milestones of two, five, 10 and 15 years. The awards were given during the meeting as a ceremonial acknowledgement of employee service; no formal policy action was required.
The council also considered two proclamations introduced by Mayor Wallace. Proclamation No. 2026-06 declares April 11–17, 2026, as the Week of the Young Child; Proclamation No. 2026-07 declares April 19–25, 2026, as Library Week. The items were opened for discussion and included in the meeting record.
Councilmembers used the reports section to highlight community events and volunteer needs, including a third-Friday monthly food-distribution volunteer opportunity and donated circus tickets for families; no new ordinances or budgetary commitments were recorded in the minutes for these items.
