Public commenter questions driveway work and alleges TIF misuse; board corrects claim

Jim Hurley used the public-comment period to raise concerns about the Village’s handling of certain projects and to ask why the Public Works Department removes leaves on Main Street during windy conditions. He also described the Village’s reconstruction of his driveway after a prior removal during a curb stop installation and questioned the gravel used. "The driveway was prepared, including compaction and the placement of gravel sourced from the Village gravel supply," Superintendent Lanxon said in response, explaining the work had been done at Mr. Hurley’s request and guided by white flags placed in fall 2025.
Mr. Hurley additionally alleged that Trustee Corwin had received Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds to construct an addition to her home. That statement was immediately corrected and called "completely false" by President Sheila Yepsen, Trustee Corwin and other board members, and by Al Corwin, who was present in the audience. The Board then moved on to its scheduled reports.
