Council approves Concurrency Review Certificate for 20 NE 24th Street, lifts stop-work order upon county filings

The Village of Lazy Lake on Nov. 6 approved a resolution issuing a Concurrency Review Certificate for the site plan at 20 NE 24th Street and authorized lifting the existing stop-work order once the applicant submits the required Broward County permits and a final elevation certificate.
Planner Christian Waterval reported the project meets Village land development regulations for lot size, setbacks, height and impervious area; he said three surveys were reviewed and field measurements verified compliance. Waterval noted the lot size is 21,300 square feet, above the 10,000-square-foot minimum, and that a final survey and elevation certificate are required prior to completion. The planner also said copies of Broward County permits must be provided to the Village.
During council discussion the applicant’s representative confirmed the lighting pole on the property line will remain part of the Village circuit but said aesthetic modifications could be proposed subject to Village review. Council members pressed the applicant to review shoreline riprap options to prevent erosion and requested a plan to replace a removed oak canopy; the applicant agreed to propose larger “character trees.”
A motion to approve the resolution and authorize lifting of the stop-work order was seconded by Councilmember William Daugherty and passed 3-0. The minutes do not record the name of the councilmember who moved the motion.
