Huachuca City Council backs animal-code updates, supports proposed Cochise County animal shelter

Chief Berry told the Council that portions of the town's animal code are no longer relevant and that removing those sections would make partnerships with Cochise County easier if the county proceeds with a local shelter. Council authorized preparation of ordinances to amend the animal code.
Town Manager Suzanne Harvey recommended collaborating with Cochise County on the proposed animal shelter, saying it would benefit the town. The Council authorized submission of a letter stating the town's support for the county locating a shelter in Huachuca City; the motion passed unanimously.
