Councilmember Dana Merrill reported outreach to four accounting professionals; three firms responded with proposals estimating $250–$300 per month (about $100 more than the previous firm). Those firms identified two primary concerns that prevented engagement: the need for restricted single-firm access to financial systems and unresolved historical accounting issues.
Responding firms said access would have to be limited to the accounting firm, the Village Attorney, and the Village Clerk and that they would not accept engagements where multiple individuals had unrestricted financial-system access. Council recorded no final selection or contract award at the meeting.
