Maurice (Moe) reported three mower bids and noted they are not directly comparable because the machines differ; he estimated a trade-in value of about $25,000 for the town's 25-year-old mower and was asked to check how long the dealer's price is valid. The board also praised Moe for the quick replacement of a missing 50 MPH sign on South Road.
Town staff reported chloride was received for dust control and that a start date for McKenzie Road work should be in early August. The invoice from Whitcomb for North Road paving will be split with 65% paid from grant funds for the 7,000 feet approved to be paved out of a total 10,715 feet. VTrans will stripe North Road about 14 days after the town marks the middle line (middle line marked 7/17), so striping was expected by the end of the month. The Selectboard also directed ordering two 25 MPH signs for New Street based on the traffic ordinance.
