Council approved a set of municipal services agreements and advanced annexation schedules for properties whose non-annexation agreements expired in 2020. Angie Mangleris and Ashley Exton presented details for three properties on Mills Road (approximately 2.00, 1.03 and 1.09 acres) that will follow the required annexation schedule; where action was required, council approved the MSAs and scheduled the public hearings and readings.
Staff also presented a comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning request for roughly 24.94 acres near the intersection of West University Drive (US—380) and Golden Hoof Drive intended to allow regional mixed-use and suburban-corridor development associated with the Hickory Grove area. Mia Hines said the proposed regional mixed-use designation and the suburban corridor zoning are intended to support retail and commercial services to serve nearby residential development and are consistent with prior planning for the area. Planning and Zoning recommended approval, and council voted 6—0 to approve the comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning on first reading where required.
