Police Chief Eric Hansell told the board the cost had increased by about $10,000 since earlier discussions and that department operating costs are generally rising. "This has gone up $10K," President Richard Samples said during the action item discussion. Trustee Stewart moved and Trustee Jordan seconded the motion; trustees approved the purchase unanimously by roll call.
Chief Hansell also reported the department logged 440 calls for service in May and that a vehicle rotation will place the new unit into service next week. The board did not discuss financing changes beyond approving the purchase from existing capital or equipment budgets.
