Kelly (speaker 5) updated the board on Board of Health matters, including a septic issue at 14 Gauge Street. Kelly said a letter for a lien is being prepared and staff will forward it to legal. She told the board, "$30,000 of the contingency was going towards it and then we just have to at some point figure out where the other 28,000 is coming from." Committee members moved to reaffirm earlier approval to use $30,000 of contingency for the septic remediation; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Kelly also reported on a condemned building at 7–9 Tremont, vacant since 2005, with foundation holes and potential asbestos and lead‑remediation needs. She said the building has had work done while inspectors were absent and that repairs will likely require gutting, structural inspection and new occupancy permits before it could be used as a rental unit. The board agreed staff should coordinate with the building inspector and legal as the enforcement and lien work proceeds.
