Council approves IGA with Fulton County to run city elections

The Chattahoochee Hills City Council voted unanimously Sept. 9 to approve an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Fulton County to run the city's elections this year.
City staff explained that Fulton County ran the 2021 and 2023 city elections and that county staff will already be present to run a public service commissioner race, so there is no anticipated cost for in-person election day. The IGA notes a cost would apply only if a runoff became necessary, though staff said that outcome appeared unlikely given the candidate fields.
Danny presented the staff recommendation and the council moved and seconded the item. Mayor Reed called for the vote and the motion carried without opposition.
The council record shows the item as "25-044" (IGA with Fulton County for elections); staff recommended approval and the council adopted the agreement. No further conditions or expenditures were added at the meeting.
