Council hears $40,000, five-year proposal for three Axon dash cams and VR training platform

That is $40,000 for 5 years," Kevin said, adding that both sergeants are already certified to use the VR platform and that software/contract terms include upgrades at no additional cost if Axon releases new systems.
Council members asked practical questions about portability between vehicles, lifecycle upgrades and training requirements; the department said the hardware can be moved between cars during vehicle turnover and that current sergeants are ready to implement training without additional outside certification. No final purchasing vote was recorded at this meeting.
