Board approves consent agenda, accepts donations and authorizes MOU for data sharing

The Mark West Union School District Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda by unanimous vote on Jan. 13. The consent agenda included personnel approvals, vendor warrants, the audit engagement letter from Stephen Roatch Accountancy (year two of three for the year ending June 30, 2026), and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sonoma County Office of Education for data-sharing services covering January 2026 through January 2031.
The minutes record the vote: "On a motion by Trustee McKnight, 2nd by Trustee Smith, the Consent Agenda was approved. Aye=5, Nay=0, Abstention=0, Absent=0." The consent agenda also included approval of School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs), the Williams Quarterly Report for October–December 2025, and minutes from prior board meetings.
Trustees also approved several donor contributions listed in the minutes: a $100 donation from Kenneth and Teresa Detweiler for the John B. Riebli field trip fund; $50 from Lidia Maria Granneman for a kindergarten class at Mark West Elementary; a $398.61 bus donation from Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation to Mark West Elementary; and multiple $100 and $200 donations to Mark West Elementary's canned food drive from named individuals. Trustee Brian Burke acknowledged and thanked the donors during the meeting.
The minutes do not record discussion on individual consent items or identify any items removed from consent for separate discussion.
