CEO Bill Everett thanked law enforcement for a rapid response to a recent shooting in Anaconda, saying officers apprehended the suspect in about 45 minutes and worked long hours to resolve the incident.
"If you see one of our police officers, please thank them," Everett said, calling the response "absolutely miraculous." He also thanked County Attorney Morgan Smith for legal support during the response.
During public comment, Cris Yellowtail renewed a request for a countywide alert system and asked what steps the county will take to implement one. "We still don't have one in place, and we absolutely have a necessity for it. What are we going to do about it?" Yellowtail asked.
The work session closed with the chair reading upcoming meeting dates and adjourning at 7:01 p.m.; no further action on an alert system was recorded during the meeting.
