Commission splits 38 Pelham application; historic windows portion continued after survey

At the commission’s June 10 meeting, counsel for the applicant asked the commission to split application N8 for 38 Pelham Street so that non‑window items (roof, gutters, clapboard and trim work) could proceed and the question of restoring historic wood windows could be researched further. Counsel said a window survey received this week indicated many sashes and components were only about 20 years old and warranted additional review before committing to restoration.
The HDC voted to separate the application, approve the parts unrelated to historic wood window restoration, and continue the window restoration portion to the July 8, 2025 meeting so the commission and staff have time to review the new survey and determine whether restoration or replacement is appropriate.
