He also urged lake users to wear life jackets and avoid water activities in high-wind conditions after another drowning at Sand Hollow.
Council members asked whether the drowning involved a local resident; chief Yates said the department only had preliminary information and that a live flight to a hospital had been used, which suggested serious injury. He urged continued public education and safety reminders for lake users.
