Member Dianne El‑Hajj defended the language, saying mentor teachers should be equipped with diverse knowledge to support student needs. The motion to ratify, moved by El‑Hajj and seconded by Glover, passed 3‑1 (Thill Nay; Burns not present).
Board members debated the scope of mentor responsibilities but approved the MOU to continue the Teacher Induction Program. The discussion will remain in the meeting record for future contract language review if the Board elects to revisit the item.
