Hill Creek leaders highlight test gains, attendance incentives and mentor check‑ins

Principal Chasity Forster and Vice Principal Monica Farren presented Hill Creek School’s progress to the Santee School District Board on Feb. 18, 2025, describing academic and climate interventions the site uses to support students.
Forster and the Hill Creek teaching team reviewed CAASPP and iReady results, Panorama Survey findings, and the school’s use of WIN time, classroom walkthroughs and UFLI to reach academic goals. Forster said the school also uses attendance incentives and a daily mentor check‑in program that is aligned with a "focus on the good." The Board thanked the Hill Creek team for their work on school culture and student supports.
The presentation served as the Board’s Spotlight on Education; members praised the site visit outcomes and noted the programs as examples other schools might study. The Hill Creek team identified social‑emotional supports and strong Tier 1 instruction as central to meeting their climate and academic targets.
