The mayor announced the subjects to be discussed in closed session were economic development negotiations under Texas Government Code §551.087; the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property under §551.072; legal matters including litigation, emergency preparedness and collective bargaining and regulatory matters related to CPS Energy under §551.071; and personnel matters under §551.074. The clerk had earlier confirmed a quorum before the council recessed for the closed-door meeting.
The council did not specify public details of items discussed in the executive session. The announcement cited statutory exceptions that allow confidentiality for negotiations, attorney consultations and personnel matters.
