Summary
Dozens of neighbors testified that the proposed Ogden/Saratoga Dutch Bros would create queuing, noise and safety risks for students and seniors; petitioners say the planning commission recommended denial and submitted signatures opposing the site.

During the public‑comment portion of the first reading, multiple residents described safety risks and loss of quality of life if a high‑volume drive‑through locates immediately adjacent to single‑family homes and schools. Tricia Cantelina, whose house faces the proposed site, said the proposal would replace a quiet daytime business with a 5 a.m. to late‑night operation that brings idling vehicles and headlights into back yards.
"We respectfully ask the village council to uphold the planning commission's recommendation, protect our neighborhood, and vote no to the proposal," Cantelina said, citing a written petition her group submitted. Other speakers described daily pickup lines at Herrick Middle School and potential blocking of Linscott alley access; a long‑time dental practice said its only handicapped access is via the rear lot and asked for written easements to protect patient access. Council members acknowledged those concerns and requested additional study and draft conditions before any final vote.
