Troy names stretch of Rensselaer Street "Super 400 Way" to honor local band

The Troy City Council unanimously approved Resolution 81 to designate the western portion of Rensselaer Street, west of River Street, as "Super 400 Way" in recognition of the band's 30-year career and community fundraising.
A proclamation read on the council floor recounted Super 400's origins at a 1996 rehearsal at a River Street factory, listed albums and benefit work (including support for the Dustin Meeley Memorial Concert and donations to suicide-prevention organizations), and noted the band's induction into the Capital Region Hall of Fame. "If we have a gift that we can share our music and it'll turn people on to the arts ... then we're happy to do that," a member of the band said.
Supporters in the gallery and speakers praised the band's community work and mental-health fundraising; the council announced an official dedication ceremony to place the honorary sign.
The council’s action was celebratory and non-controversial; it was recorded as passed by unanimous vote.
