DRB clears paint for Ambler hotel at 188 South Broadway; board praises revitalization

"Our hotel is being renamed the Ambler," Barnett told the board, explaining the proposed white base color with black trim and peach‑orange front door accents.
Board members said the paint selection is appropriate for the prominent downtown location and that a black metal railing would be acceptable when the railing is submitted later. Members also urged caution about painting unpainted brick and advised the applicant to consult contractors about the longevity of painted brick surfaces. The DRB approved the paint as submitted; other elements such as the railing and signage will return for additional review.
