Superintendent: district to go out to bid next month for capital project; construction slated summers 2026 and 2027

Superintendent Fortisio updated the board on the next steps for the capital project the district previously approved. He said the board will go out to bid in about a month and expects bids to be returned by the February meeting, with construction scheduled for summer 2026 and summer 2027.
"In about a month, we will be going out to bid ... construction slated to, happen summer of 2026 and summer of 2027," Fortisio said. The project scope listed in the presentation included roof replacement at the middle/high school, parking lot and curbing work and several classrooms at GLP. Fortisio said he will return with bid results at the February meeting and hopes to report favorable outcomes to the board.
The board did not take a separate vote on the bidding timeline during this update; procurement and bid review will follow established district procedures.
