Board hears plan to pilot AI lesson‑review bots and expand online tutoring

Laurie told the board the district is piloting AI tools to support teachers and increase student agency. She described building two 'bots' in a school AI space that accept a lesson plan and provide feedback against the Danielson rubric; teachers can iterate by asking the bot follow‑up questions. "It'll prompt them to upload a lesson plan and then, it gives them feedback based on the Danielson rubric," she said, adding that a small group of teachers trialed the tool and reported useful ideas.
On tutoring, Laurie said the district previously had 14 students using a live online tutoring service and now has 41 students using a mix of live and AI options; students can choose a human tutor or use AI chat. She also outlined plans for a middle/high testing center to deliver computer‑based assessments and provide reading accommodations so some students will not need to leave the classroom for testing.
