Eden athletics highlights winter season; cheerleaders report nationals success

The district's athletics director summarized winter-season participation and accomplishments, saying 14 winter programs were offered and roughly 29 percent of the student body participated in winter sports. Staff highlighted academic achievement: every varsity team qualified as a scholar-athlete team, meaning more than 75 percent of each roster had an academic average of 90 or above, and the district counted 57 individual scholar-athletes.
The athletics presentation noted team successes across sports, including ECIC division girls basketball championship and strong wrestling placings. Coaches and senior cheerleaders Riley Schuler and Alexis Puri described the program's trip to nationals in Florida and a team tradition of sharing "clothespins of positivity." "Going to Florida this year to compete in internationals has strengthened... the connection between my teammates and I and made us stronger as a program," Schuler said. The board thanked the athletes and supporting staff for the accomplishments and recognized the role of coaches, transportation and trainers in those achievements.
