Board weighs Family ID rollout and locker logistics as device policy nears implementation

Assistant Principal Jason Iwanco called Family ID "a 1 stop shop for communication where coaches can actually... send emails or text message to the parents" and said parents must register using the student's e‑school email so coaches can reach both parent and student. He said the tool archives coach communications so administrators can review what was sent to parents and students.
Board members asked how the district will help parents register correctly and whether all coaches were briefed; Iwanco said coaches were covered in a recent coaches meeting and that he had personally walked a small number of parents through the registration process. The board expressed concern about the learning curve for parents and coaches and noted the need for clear rollout materials and support.
Separately, members asked about passing time between classes (clarified as three minutes) and whether students would have sufficient time to use lockers. Principal Bill McDonough acknowledged the concern, said few students are typically late and committed to "coach[ing] our students up on... how to comply with this and that using their lockers is actually a good plan," and added the district will monitor the transition.
