Planning board recommends special-use permit for automotive shop at 3106 Walden Ave.

The Village of Depew Planning Board on Aug. 6 recommended the Village Board approve a special-use permit allowing an automotive repair shop with limited vehicle sales at 3106 Walden Avenue.
Applicant David Heath identified himself as the owner/operator of Pure Performance and said the business will focus on “repair cars and, kinda buy and sell cars” for specialty, high-end vehicles. Heath told board members his planned hours are roughly 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday and 9 a.m.–noon on Saturday, and that he does most work himself and expects to keep vehicle-for-sale inventory small.
Board members pressed about on-site storage and neighborhood impacts. The board requested the rear dumpster be moved away from an adjacent residence, asked that a screened corral be installed and required cleanup of the rear lot. Heath said his waste-oil tank is emptied by Safety-Kleen and Noco Environmental and that he does not heat with waste oil.
On a motion recorded as made by Member Fedorowicz and seconded by Member Solha, the board voted by roll call to recommend approval with the stipulations described. Chair (speaker 6) announced the motion carried.
The matter will now go to the Village Board for final action; the Planning Board’s recommendation includes the conditions noted above and the expectation the applicant follow local business-occupancy and waste-handling requirements.
