Board accepts multiple resignations, approves summer staff and probationary teacher appointments

The board approved a number of personnel items on the consent agenda. Resignations accepted included teacher aide Kathy Franklin (effective 06/25/2025), cafeteria monitors Deborah Holcher (06/17/2025) and Diane Strong (06/20/2025), occupational therapy assistant Jessica Perkins (06/25/2025), and special education teacher Sarah Myers (06/30/2025). "The board and administration wish to thank missus Franklin for her 26 years of service to the district," the clerk said as the resignation was read into the record.
The board also approved reappointments, a slate of summer employees (effective 07/07/2025 through 08/15/2025), and summer substitutes. Following successful probationary periods, Michael Gerwitz and Jay Eppolito were appointed to permanent maintenance and bus mechanic positions, respectively. The board approved several probationary teaching appointments (Ashley Mommertz, Rebecca Morrish, Rachel Braun) with probationary periods beginning 09/01/2025 and discussed the tenure eligibility rules tied to Education Law §3012 recited in the motion.
