Board reviews lighting, door re-keying and plaque plans; lighting vote set for Nov. 20

At the Nov. 13 special facility meeting, Superintendent Nathan Libbon reported several maintenance items requiring board consideration. He said 15 outside doors will be re-keyed for a quoted total of $3,600, and that Hunt Electric (through Mike Desmond) provided two lighting options for the main gym: 30 fixtures at 15,000 lumens each for $13,550, or 30 fixtures at 24,000 lumens each for $15,512. Board members indicated the 15K-lumen option appears bright enough and noted that brighter fixtures could cause glare on a shiny floor.
Libbon also said staff are still awaiting prices for updated parking signage and for making the plaques in the main gym uniform; he will contact Dave again about plaques. The board scheduled a vote on the lighting options for its Nov. 20 regular meeting and requested full cost and glare-impact information before deciding.
