Board addresses pond encroachment, irrigation repairs and park benches

Board members reported several ongoing operations issues, including apparent construction encroaching on an environmentally sensitive drainage retention area (EDRA) at Pond 16 and damage to the pond bank. Supervisor Michael Walsh reported that a homeowner had installed a pool and enclosure that appears to be encroaching on the EDRA; staff will monitor the area and address homeowner responsibility once work is complete.
Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz noted a temporary dam had been built on Hole 11 to address an irrigation break after a photo of a white structure was shared with the board. Supervisor Carol Vaughan praised the front property and Paleo Park and requested placement of an additional bench; Mr. Gatz agreed to meet her on site to determine placement. The board also noted that twice-annual mulching of the entire park will begin in October 2024 and that curbs and multiple sidewalk repairs are the responsibility of the HPCA.
