Zevin (S4) moved to create a work group led by Michael Bolo; John Bowman seconded the motion. The chair called for a vote: committee members voiced their approvals, and Michael Bolo recorded an abstention for the record. The motion carried and staff will convene the work group, solicit fellows from UNLV, and bring a recommendation back to the full committee for final action.
Members discussed logistics, including limiting the number of primary committee members who participate (to avoid quorum issues), reviewing the application using surveys or email, and scheduling an expedited review so the recognition decision could be returned to the committee at a special meeting in June if needed. The committee also discussed HRSA's prior review of the application forms and agreed to notify HRSA when the first recognition is approved.
