EMSC council says Hand Heavy rollout on schedule; rural trainings to finish in two months

Michael Bolu, a council staff member who led the update, told the Pediatric Emergency Care Council that the Hand Heavy implementation is progressing on schedule for six identified agencies.
"We're on schedule. We completed everything before our deadlines, and we're moving forward as we meet today," Bolu said, and added that one agency (Carson City Fire) joined the initiative without EMSC grant funding. He said session one implementation calls have occurred for all agencies except Lander County and that staff expect trainings and application builds to be completed within about two months.
Bolu said the team is tracking milestones and will notify the council when agencies go live so the council can review early data on medication dosage errors and utilization across calls. He noted some requested Las Vegas data were not available in time for the meeting but that the program will continue to collect and report on outcomes.
The council did not take formal action on the item; members asked that Bolu share milestone updates and any forthcoming data reports at future meetings.
