At its May 11 meeting the Ballinger ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of a food serving line for the secondary campus, authorizing the superintendent to finalize the procurement. The board approved using Food Program Excess Funds roughly equal to the fund balance (about $84,000) plus up to $15,000 from the 2025–26 operating budget for a maximum total of $99,000; Trustee Jason Battle moved the measure and Trustee Scott King seconded it.
The motion packet recorded the approximate fund balance figure and authorized the superintendent to complete the purchase under those funding parameters. The minutes do not include vendor names, installation timelines, or detailed specifications; district nutrition services or operations staff are expected to provide further procurement and installation details in follow-up reports.
