Principals report STAAR prep and student achievements; athletics post strong season

Joanna Fullingim (Elementary Principal), Tate Albright (High School Principal), and Ollie Hart (Middle School Principal) each reported to the board on campus activities and student performance. Items included the wrap-up of mid-year conferences, upcoming benchmark testing to prepare students for STAAR assessments, safety drill performance, PE and book fair plans, and an update to the Campus Improvement Plan based on staff survey input. Principal reports noted preparations for the 2025-26 school year at the high school level and generally improved student performance.
Athletic Director Justin Wiley highlighted team and individual achievements: several players and managers were recognized for THSCA Academic All-State and Padilla Poll All-State honors; the girls basketball team advanced to the playoffs, and boys basketball were scheduled to play Spearman the following day. In powerlifting, Sydney Miller placed 4th at the regional meet and Micah Cortez, Steven Oswalt and Case Heinrich qualified for the regional meet. Aaron Peralez was recognized with Teacher of the Year honors from the Texas Association of English Teachers according to the principal reports.
