Kimberly Flores and Travis Yoakum presented a report on Belen Little League growth and Parks and Recreation programming. Flores said the league has approximately 300 registered players across 29 teams, from ages 4 to 16, and that the board expanded from seven to 18 members this year. Yoakum credited Parks and Recreation staff—particularly Greg and Abel—for improving field quality, which he said supported participation and competitive play.
Richard Carrillo provided an overview of broader recreation programming: the Summer Recreation Program has about 100 children in its second session with field trips and twice-weekly swimming; a Summer Concert Series runs biweekly at Anna Becker Park; new leagues include a Family Kickball League and a 12-team NFL Youth Flag Football League; and the adult 3-on-3 basketball league grew to nine teams. Staff asked for continued volunteer support, especially umpires.
