City Clerk Dorothy Flores presented a new beer-and-wine on-premises license application for Alejandro's Café LLC at 908 South Main Street and confirmed that public notices were published in the Valencia County News Bulletin in compliance with state requirements and that the applicant received certified notice of the hearing. Clerk Flores said the zoning letter was included in the packet and that no protests were received.
Mayor Robert Noblin noted the nearest school (Belen Middle School) and nearest church are each more than 1,000 feet away from the proposed premises. No members of the public spoke during the hearing. Councilor Steven Holdman moved to approve the license and Councilor Frank F. Ortega seconded; the motion carried 4-0.
