Board gets status update on tennis courts, turf, middle school roof and LED retrofit

Board members received a multi-part facilities update on July 14 detailing several capital projects across district campuses. The board heard that paving for a new drive is scheduled for the week of July 27, with the road projected to be fully open and functioning by Aug. 10. Tennis courts have fence posts up, painting and surface work planned, and turf installation is underway with sand/infill crews scheduled after the turf was laid and hashed for markings.
Superintendent Jeff and facilities staff said the middle school roof project is near completion except for a few finishing items and that an LED lighting retrofit at the middle school is underway; contractor shipments for lights were expected to arrive the week of the meeting and installations will continue during 2nd shift so regular operations are not disrupted. Brad noted the campus is approaching the 30-year life milestone for some systems and highlighted ongoing boiler and HVAC replacements completed in recent years. Trustees were asked to expect continued PI (permanent improvement) project planning in the fall for next summer's cycle.
